Usage guide
Teams and roles, alerts and activity, usage and billing, support, and limits.
This guide covers running Nistro AI day to day: who can do what, where to see what happened, what you're spending, and the limits to plan around.
Teams and roles#
Every account has its own team, named after you (for example "Sam's Team"). Your deployments live in the team that was selected when you created them.
There's no separate step to create a team. When the owner of another account gives you access to one of their plans, their team appears in the Team menu in the console's top bar, named after them (for example "Alex's Team"). The menu marks each team as Owner (your own) or Member. Switch teams there to see and manage that team's deployments.
Usage, Billing and Settings always show your own team.
Roles#
Access is granted per product plan, such as Inference On-Demand or Postgres Scale. Each plan grant has one of these roles:
| Role | View deployments | Create and change deployments | Manage members |
|---|---|---|---|
| Owner | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Admin | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Editor | Yes | Yes | No |
| Reader | Yes | No | No |
The owner is the account the plan belongs to. Your role in the selected team appears under your email at the bottom of the console's sidebar.
Invite a team member#
Owners and admins can invite people from the Team page:
- Under Invite a team member, enter their Email address.
- Pick the Product plan to share and a Role: Reader (the default) or Editor, plus Admin where it's enabled.
- Select Send invite.
The same page lists everyone with access, and owners and admins can remove access there. The owner's access and your own can't be removed. People without admin access see a message instead of the list.
Plan access#
In your own team, Postgres On-Demand, Postgres Scale and Inference On-Demand are ready to use. Inference Scale is available on request; see Request Scale access. Enterprise is set up with our team.
In a shared team you can only use the plans the owner shared with you. Others show as not shared with you.
Alerts and activity#
Both pages are under Governance in the console's sidebar and show the selected team.
Alerts#
Alerts lists Critical, High and Medium alerts about your deployments, with the deployment, alert ID, category, type, priority and date. Filter by time: the last hour, 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days, any time, or a custom range. Alerts load 50 at a time; select Load more for older ones.
Activity log#
Activity Log lists audit events, newest first: the deployment, product, time, event type, message, user and owner. Filter by date range, by type (Customer, System or Maintenance) and by product (Postgres or Inference). Events show 20 to a page.
Usage and billing#
Payment method#
You need a payment method on file before you can deploy. Until you add one, the console shows a banner, and deploys fail with "A payment method is required before deploying. Add one under Billing."
To add one, open Billing and select Configure on the Payment Method card. This opens the billing provider's page. The card shows Configured once it's set.
In a shared team, deployments use the team owner's billing. If the owner has no payment method, ask them to add one.
Billing#
The Billing page shows:
- Payment Summary: who bills you, your outstanding balance with Pay outstanding balance, and your payment method.
- Invoices: each invoice's number, payment term, invoice date, due date, status and total.
Charges follow metered usage of the infrastructure your deployments run on. Where the console shows a monthly estimate, it's the hourly price over 730 hours.
Usage#
The Usage page (Cost Explorer) shows your own team's spending and usage:
- Metered Usage: CPU core hours and GPU millicore hours per day (UTC) for this month or the last 7 or 30 days. Export it as CSV.
- Estimated monthly cost by product, cloud provider, deployment, location or region, storage type and compute, and a table of deployments.
Inference costs aren't in the estimates yet, so the cost totals cover Nistro AI Postgres.
Account settings#
Settings shows your profile and workspace details, including your organization ID, tenant ID and user ID. Include these when you contact support. Profile details can't be edited there. To change your password, enter your current password, enter a new one of at least 8 characters twice, then select Update password.
Support#
Email [email protected]. Each plan's support level is listed on the pricing page.
For PostgreSQL expertise, Nistro AI Postgres Scale deployments can add the DBA support add-on from our partner Command Prompt when they're created.
To talk to sales about Scale or Enterprise, use the contact form on nistro.ai.
Limits#
| Limit | Details |
|---|---|
| Payment method required | Every deploy needs a payment method on file; see Payment method. |
| One Inference deployment per plan | Each Inference plan in a team runs one deployment at a time. To deploy another model, delete the current deployment first. |
| 50 Inference deployments | Nistro AI Inference runs at most 50 active deployments across the platform. If that cap is reached, deploying fails with a quota error; email [email protected]. |
Each plan also has size limits. See Postgres plans and Inference plans.
